History of Brentwood

For a long time, Brentwood remained a rural farming town. The invention of the car encouraged Nashville residents to move out to these suburban towns. People began buying old plantations and restoring them. The area became a popular spot for fox hunting and raising horses. By the 1960s, Interstate 65 brought even more people to the area, and in 1969 Brentwood incorporated into a city with just 3,378 people. Today, it has over 11 times that, and it remains a popular destination for Nashville commuters.
